Biography

Feliks Leparsky was the son of a lieutenant colonel from the Grodno province. He completed his training in the Nizhny Novgorod Cadet Corps in 1893 and graduated with honours from the Pavlovsk Military School two years later to become a second lieutenant. He was involved as a staff captain in the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905 and was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav. In 1909, he was transferred to the 149th Black Sea Infantry Regiment.

Leparsky received various military decorations as a fencer. His book Sequential Training in Saber Fencing was published in 1910. In 1912, he competed in the Olympic Games in Stockholm, where he was eliminated in the first round of the individual foil tournament.

At the beginning of World War I, Leparsky served in the rank of captain in the 30th Poltava Infantry Regiment and was killed in action in the village of Orlau in former German East Prussia (now Orłowo in Poland). He was married to Maria Lyudgardovna Novitskaya.
