Biography

Mike McCahey started fencing at the Chicago Athletic Association, and in high school won the Illinois State title and the US Under-19 Nationals in foil. He then attended Notre Dame where he won two NCAA titles in 1977-78 and was named NCAA Fencing Athlete of the Year in 1978. He competed at the 1979 Universiade and the 1979 and 1982 World Championships. McCahey was an eight-time US champion in team foil, and was the 1984 individual foil champion. Although he started in sales with Hilton in New York, he later became President of MJ Technologies, a computer software company near Chicago, and did motivational speaking.
