Biography

René Fenouillière began his football career with l’Union Sportive Avranches, before going to England to study, where he played mostly rugby football. In 1902 he joined the Spanish club RCD Español, and was then loaned to Barcelona FC in 1903. Upon returning to Paris he first played with Racing Club de France and then joined Red Star Paris.

In World War I Fenouillière joined his old club US Avranches for a friendly against allied soldiers. He joined the 2e Régiment d’Infanterie and was wounded in 1915. He recovered and returned to the fighting, but was later killed near Reims, France from a head wound.
