Biography

Thomée, nicknamed Het Kanon (“The Cannon”) for his shooting abilities, played for Concordia Delft. He became president of that club in 1918. Internationally he played 16 matches for the Dutch team, averaging 1 goal per match. A trained doctor, he later served on the medical committee of the Dutch football federation. His granddaughter, Eeke van Nes, won three Olympic medals in rowing.
