Titus Flavius Hermogenes won eight titles at Ancient Olympia, triumphing in the stadion, diaulos, and race in armor in 81, 85, and 89 CE. Long before Alberto Juantorena, his fellow competitors nicknamed him Hippos, or “The Horse.”
