Birgit Schielin was an Austrian rhythmic gymnast participating at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics. She was eliminated in the qualifying round and placed 24th. Just three years after her Olympic appearance, Schielin became Austrian national coach at the age of 20.
Schielin later studied journalism and became an events manager. She organised the Gala Night of Sports, together with the Austrian Sports Aid Foundation, in which the Sportspeople of the Year are elected.
