Biography

East German gymnast Bettina Schieferdecker won the team bronze medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Individually, she finished 30th and did not reach any apparatus final. She also won a team bronze at the 1983 World Championships. Due to the Soviet-led boycott of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics she could not participate. Schieferdecker was later the head of a cattery in Leipzig.
