Biography

Joyce Racek took tumbling lessons when she was 4-years-old and started gymnastics at the Lincoln Turner gymnasium in Chicago when she was only 9-years-old. She attended Lake View High School where she competed in water ballet and did tumbling on the cheerleading squad. After the Olympics, Racek attended college in Michigan then moved to Florida with her first husband, Bill Markley, with whom she raised three children. They later divorced and after a second marriage, to Paul Budrunas, she settled with him for two years in Australia, although they later moved to Littleton, Colorado, before divorcing.
