Biography

Adolfo Tunesi was an Italian gymnast. Born in Cento, but settling in Bologna, he devoted himself to gymnastics from a very young age, competing in the Virtus Bologna gym (at that time known as Santa Lucia). He soon obtained good results, particularly on the floor and rings. He competed at the 1912 Olympics and was a member of the Italian team that won the all-round team title. Two other Bologna athletes, Luciano Savorini and Giuseppe Domenichelli, were in the team,

Unfortunately, the outbreak of World War I halted Tunesi’s career, although he did continue competing after the hostilities until 1932, but he no longer reached the same heights. For several years, until after World War II, he held the position of juror of the Italian Gymnastics Federation.
