Biography

Sigurd Jørgensen was a member of the Norwegian men’s gymnastics team, which won an Olympic gold medal in the all-around free system event. His father was a manager at the Fire Insurance Association and later owned a factory, where textiles were recycled to produce new goods prior to the introduction of synthetic fibres. Sigurd left school in 1904 after he did not pass the secondary school exam. Nothing is known about his profession. He was married but nothing is known about his family.
