Aleksandr Akhyun

Aleksandr Akhyun was a student at the time at the time of the Stockholm Olympics and learned of his selection for the Russian team only 1½ months before the competition began. There, he placed 39th in the individual all-around achieving the best result on the parallel bars with 25.25 points. Akhyun was the first Olympian born in the territory of modern-day Azerbaijan.
