Biography

Tim Dykstra came to handball via basketball. He played collegiately at Eastern Illinois University where he earned four letters and made All-Conference in 1981-83. He started handball when USA Handball was recruiting college athletes from other sports to come and train and attempt to make the US team. Dykstra earned a college degree in turf science and put that to use in golf. He became a golf professional and course superintendent at Heron Creek Golf Club in LaGrange, Indiana, spending 10 years there, starting in the mid-1980s. He then designed and supervised the construction of Noble Hawk Golf Links in Kendallville, Indiana, along with his brother, Mark. Tim Dykstra is co-owner of Noble Hawk and oversees the gold operation. He is a Class A PGA Professional and a member of the Golf Course Superintendent’s Association (GCSA) and the Golf Course Owner’s Association. The success of his work at Noble Hawk led to other design opportunities and Dykstra works in design and consulting services to golf courses and developers throughout the Midwest.
