Biography

Wolfgang Lüderitz finished 40th in the Modern Pentathlon at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, finishing sixth with the East German team. Domestically he earned two silvers in 1960 and 1967, and a bronze in 1965. The same year Lüderitz won a bronze medal with the East German team at the World Championships. In 1969 GDR sports administrators stopped supporting modern pentathlon as the sport did not present enough medal opportunities.
