Biography

Jörg Tscherner finished 40th in the Modern Pentathlon at the 1968 Mexico Summer Olympics, finishing sixth with the East German team. In 1969 GDR sports administrators stopped supporting modern pentathlon as this sport did not present enough medal opportunities. Domestically he never ascended a podium. Tscherner was 1967 Youth World Champion.
