Biography

Ricardo Durão was a modern pentathlete who competed at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, placing 41st individually and 15th with the Portuguese team. Durão was a career military man who earned the rank of General. He was the son of Colonel Roberto Durão, former president of the Portuguese Federation of Modern Pentathlon, and the uncle of Gonçalo Durão, also an international pentathlete for Portugal.
