Frederick Denman was an officer in the US Army when he competed in the 1952 modern pentathlon. Denman was a graduate of the US Military Academy. He later earned a PhD in business administration from U Cal Berkeley and became an advertising company executive and eventually a professor of marketing at the University of Washington.
