Biography

Rower Hermann Bauer was a three-time Olympian at the 1988 Seoul, 1992 Barcelona, and 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics. On all occasions he rowed with the coxless pairs, partnering Karl Sinzinger, Jr. in 1988 and 1992, and Andreas Nader in 1996. The pair qualified for the B-finals and placed 12th, 12th and 11th respectively.

In 1985 and 1986, Bauer and Sinzinger won the bronze medal at the U-23 World Championships and added a gold medal in 1987. In 1989 and 1991, the pair also won bronze medals at the senior World Championships. Bauer rowed with RV Wiking Linz before later coaching youth teams and becoming a sports administrator.
