Austrian rower Thomas Linemayr was a two-time Olympian, at Moskva (Moscow) in 1980 and Los Angeles in 1984. On both occasions he partnered Wilfried Auerbach, in the coxless pairs in 1980 and in double sculls in 1984. On both occasions, they only reached the B-finals, and were classified ninth in 1980 and seventh in 1984, as the B-final winners.
Linemayr later became a graduated business administrator and manager, eventually with the leading chocolate company Lindt & Sprüngli, responsible for the US-market from 1999-2016. He then moved to Tchibo, a German chain of coffee retailers and cafés, as CEO.
