Biography

East German rower Kerstin Spittler partnered Katrin Schröder in the coxless pairs at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and finished fourth. In 1985, she won both the nationals with the coxed fours, and the world title, and the following year won the silver medal. In 1986 and 1988, Spittler won national golds with the eights, and at the 1987 Worlds, they finished fourth. In 1988, Spittler also won the coxless pairs national title with Martina Schröter.
