Biography

Helmut Wollmann rowed with TSC Berlin in the coxed pairs crew, and won the East German title in 1968. At the Mexico Olympic Games that year, he finished an unfortunate fourth, with Klaus-Dieter Neubert and Wolfgang Gunkel. In 1970 this crew won a silver medal at the East German Championships. Wollmann then moved to the coxed fours with SC Berlin-Grünau, and won a bronze medal at the 1971 nationals.
