Biography

Hiebendaal was a student at the Universiteit van Amsterdam, and represented student rowing club Nereus. In Paris, he competed for Minerva, the Dutch version of the Leander Boat Club, which was intended for sending Dutch boats abroad. He competed in the controversial coxed fours event, which eventually saw two finals contested. Hiebendaal became a doctor after completing his studies.
