In 1968, Pete Raymond was the first rower from Princeton to make the U.S. Olympic team (in the fours), and he repeated the feat in 1972 with a bit more success. After his graduation in 1968, Raymond rowed with the Union Boat Club, and made the U.S. National team as a spare in both 1970 and 1971. At the 1972 Olympics he had the third oar for the eight. Raymond later taught at a prep school near Boston and coached the Harvard lightweight and junior varsity crews.
