Biography

František Havránek was a Czech football player and manager. As a player, he played for several lower-division clubs without any notable success. After ending his playing days, Havránek coached Spartak Hradec Králové, Slavia Prague, and FC Zbrojovka Brno in Czechoslovakia. Havránek also managed Cypriot EPA Larnaca, AEL Limassol, and the Polish team Ruch Chorzów. As a coach of the Czechoslovakia team at the 1980 Moskva Olympics, Havránek obtained the most important result of his career, taking the gold medal by beating East Germany in the final.
