Biography

Achilles Da Gama Silva Malcher was a footballer, referee and coach. He was a founder member and forward with the Milano club Internazionale, and had the distinction of scoring the club’s first ever goal, in the Derby with A. C. Milano on 10 January 1909. Malcher became a referee in 1914, and enjoyed his finest moment as on official in 1928, when he was a linesman in the Olympic final between Uruguay and Argentina. For one season, 1932-33, he was coach of Bologna and guided them to third place in Serie A.
