Biography

Gaston Butter was the Belgian weightlifting champion in the lightweight division in 1924. A resident of Mouscron, he previously competed just over the border in Roubaix, France during the early 1910s, and was also noted to also be a French titleholder. Butter resided with his family in Lys-lez-Lannoy, southeast of Roubaix, and was an active gymnast in his younger years.
