Austrian welterweight Greco-Roman wrestler Anton, brother of Georg Marchl, participated at the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics, and finished in sixth place. He later ran a sports shop with his teammate Georg Neumeier. Marchl also became head of the finance department of the municipality of Wals-Siezenheim, and sports director of his home club A. C. Wals.
