Biography

Ludwig Sesta was an Austrian wrestler who finished joint 9th at the 1924 Paris Olympics in the Greco-Roman lightweight class. The following year he finished second at the 1925 European Championships in the Greco-Roman light-lightweight class, and in 1931, he placed fourth at the Europeans. Sesta wrestled with Simmeringer AC Wien (Vienna).

Nationally, Sesta won the Austrian Championship in 1923, 1927, 1929-30, and was runner-up in 1921, 1925, and 1931-33. He also won the Wiener (Vienna) Championships in 1921 and 1924. In 1922, he won the Croatian Championship.

Sesta was of Hungarian-Croatian descent and had the family name Sesztak. The family owned a hospitality unit at Simmering, his birthplace. His brother Karl was an Austrian and German international footballer and wrestler.
