Biography

Light-flyweight wrestler Jürgen Möbius finished seventh at the 1972 München Summer Games. He was eliminated, narrowly missing out on a top-six finish. Four years later in Montréal, he disappointed by losing his first two bouts by a fall and disqualification, respectively. Domestically, Möbius won six East German national titles in 1965, 1970, 1972-75. He also won three silver medals at European Championships in 1970, 1972 and 1975, and a bronze medal in 1976.
