Biography

Giovanni Gozzi participated in 1924 and 1928 as a bantamweight and won a bronze medal in Amsterdam. In 1932 he changed to the featherweight class, winning the gold medal. He won a full set of medals at the European Championships in Greco-Roman, winning gold in 1927 bantamweight, silver in 1925 bantamweight, and bronze in 1934 featherweight. Although he was the 1936 Italian champion, Gozzi could not start in Berlin because of an accident. After his active career he became a coach.
