Biography

Ben Bradshaw was the defending National Champion at the 1904 Olympics and he won his first two matches quite easily. In the finals he had a difficult match against the 1902 AAU Champion, Ted McLear, but won by a decision after 15 minutes of wrestling, giving him the Olympic gold medal and a second AAU title, as the Olympics doubled as the AAU Meet in 1904. Bradshaw later won a third AAU Championship by winning the 135 lb. class in 1907. He later worked as a printer and a tournament referee. Bradshaw coached wrestling at the Boys Club of New York in the 1920s and 30s.
