Biography

Werner Fischer was an Austrian sailor participating in the 1964 Tokyo and the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. With the two-person heavyweight dinghy Flying Dutchman he placed eighth in 1964 and 17th at Acapulco in 1968. He partnered Karl Geiger on both occasions.

Fischer and Geiger won several national championships and international races. In 1963, the pair won a bronze medal at the European Championships and in 1965 came fourth at the Worlds. Fischer later successfully marketed large brands such as Raudaschl and Beilken sails, as well as Dehler and Hanse yachts. At Yacht Club Bregenz he held several administration positions.
