William Keane sailed as a crew member in the 8-metre class aboard Angelita at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Keane represented the South Coast Corinthian Yacht Club. The Angelita arrived in København (Copenhagen) on 6 June 1936 and competed in the Scandinavian regatta circuit before going on to Kiel for the Olympic yacht races.
Keane worked as a clerk at a gas company at the time of World War I. He was in the US Navy at the end of the 1920s. Keane later became an investment banker in Los Angeles.
