Biography

Edmond Moussié and his brother, Pierre, were both avid sailors and competed for France at the 1924 (Edmond) and 1928 (Pierre) Olympics. Their brother, Gabriel, was also a top yachtsman, and was President of Arcachon Yacht Club. Edmond Moussié was an industrialist who founded and led the Union Commerical de Bordeaux-Bassens. He is considered to have been a leader in the development of Bordeaux as a port city, as was his brother Pierre, and helping add several modern installations to its port. Moussié later left Bordeaux and lived out his final years in Paris.
