Biography

Elmar Kunauer was an Austrian sprinter who represented the Klagenfurter Leichtathletik Club (KLC). Kunauer was the Austrian champion in the 100 metres (1960), 200 metres (1960, 1961), and 4×100 relay (1960, 1961, and 1963). In 1960 he set a national record of 10.4 seconds in the 100 metres that stood until 2003.

Later the same year he ran in the 100 metres and the 200 metres at the 1960 Roma Olympics but did not advance from the heats in either race. After he finished his competitive career he became the chairman and President of KLC.

Personal Bests: 100 – 10.4 (1960); 200 – 21.4 (1960).
