Biography

Representing Viborg FF Hermann Brügmann won multiple Danish titles in the long jump and triple jump, in addition to having a lengthy career as a footballer. In 1921 and 1922 Brügmann was the national champion in both the long jump and triple jump, before winning further long jump titles in 1924 and 1927. His distances in the triple jump in 1921 and 1922 were both Danish records. He competed in both events at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics but did not advance from the qualification rounds in either discipline.

During the season he was credited with scoring the first own goal of the tournament in an 8–1 loss to Horsens FS.
