Biography

In the years after the war, track sprinter Liliane Sprécher made six appearances for the French national team from 1946 to 1954. At her first international competition Sprécher won silver in the 4 x 100 metres relay at the 1946 European Athletics Championships in Oslo. Her performance earned her a place on the Olympic team for the 1948 Games in London, running in the heats of the relay and reaching the semi-finals in the 200 metres. Four years later she was named as an alternate for the 4 x 400 metres relay at the Helsinki Olympics but did not start. Sprécher then competed in events in Hungary and Czechoslovakia before retiring.

Personal Bests: 100 – 12.4 (1948); 200 – 25.5 (1948).
