Biography

Born in Algeria in 1905, Nouba Khaled went on to compete for France in long-distance running. Khaled was a specialist in the marathon and finished 12th in the event at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Three years later he became the French marathon champion, finishing just ahead of Waltispurger Maurice in a close race. Khaled later served in the French Foreign Legion and was killed in action on the Eastern Front in Russia during World War II.
