Biography
High jumper Rita Gildemeister was 1965 East German Champion and runner-up in 1967 and 1969. She was runner-up at the 1972 and 1973 European Indoor Championships. At the 1972 Munich Olympic Games Gildemeister reached the final, placing 12th.
Personal Best: HJ – 1.87i (1972).
