Biography

East German long-distance runner Frank Eisenberg became German Champion over 5,000 metres in 1972 and in the 4,000 metres cross-country in 1969, also finishing ninth at the 1971 European Championships in the 5K. In 1972 he was the first East German to go under 13:30 for the 5,000. He was educated as a turner. His twin brother Gert was also a successful long-distance runner.

Personal Best: 5000 – 13:29.0 (1972).
