Biography

Triple jumper Heinz-Günter Schenk failed to reach the finals at both the 1968 Mexico City and the 1972 München Olympics. At the 1971 Europeans he placed sixth. Schenk was East German champion in 1968 and 1973, also winning the 200 hurdles in 1965, and with the 4x100 relay in 1972. Indoors, he added another title in triple jump in 1973.

Personal Best: TJ – 16.94 (1972).
