Biography

A small and rugged high-scoring forward, Carlo Rampini won five Italian titles with US Pro Vercelli in 1908-09 and 1911-13, playing in 99 matches, with 106 goals. He was a substitute at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. Rampini played eight international matches for Italy with three goals. On 17 March 1912, in a losing effort against France (4-3) in Torino, he was the first Italian footballer to score two goals in an international. His last appearance, 11 May 1913, was against Belgium in Torino in a 1-0 victory, in which nine of the 11 were from US Pro Vercelli.
