Biography

Carolina Rieuwpassa was an Indonesian sprinter who competed in the 100 and 200 metres. Rieuwpassa was the first female runner to compete for Indonesia at the Olympic Games.

At the 1970 Asian Games Rieuwpassa won bronze in both the 100 and 200 metres. She competed in both events at the 1972 München Olympics where she reached the quarter-finals in the 200 metres. She again would compete in the same two events at the 1976 Montréal Olympics but this time she did not progress from her heats in either race. At the 1977 Southeast Asian Games Rieuwpassa won gold in the 100 metres and silver in the 200 metres.

Personal Bests: 100 – 11.85 (1978); 200 – 24.2 (1972).
