Biography

Renzo Cramerotti was an Italian javelin thrower who was the top Italian in the event in the 1970s, after winning the European Junior Championships. In 1971 Cramerotti exceeded 80 meters four times and qualified for the final at the European Championships, finishing 11th. At the end of the season he won the World University meeting in Madrid and the Mediterranean Games with 78.04. Other years followed with more modest results – eliminated in qualifying at the München Games and at the European Championships in Roma, with a third-place finish at the 1975 Mediterranean Games. He earned 33 international caps from 1968-77. Cramerotti won seven Italian titles, in 1970-73 and 1975-77. He was never able to reach the Italian record, held by Carlo Lievore.
