Biography

Dutch track and field athlete Frits Bührman represented the Excelsior club in Amersfoort where he specialised in the high jump. Bührman had a promising start to his career, setting a national record in the event in 1926 that would stand until 1931. In 1928 he competed at the Amsterdam Olympics but finished last in his qualification group and was eliminated. The following year he made up for disappointment at the Games by becoming the Dutch high jump champion. Sadly, however, Bührman was only 25-years-old when he was killed in a traffic accident in February 1930.

Personal Best: HJ – 1.81 (1926).
