Biography

Henri Landheer was a Dutch long-distance runner who was active during the 1920s and the 1930s. In 1928 Landheer was the best-placed of the six Dutch athletes who ran in the marathon at the Amsterdam Olympics, finishing 30th. In the first half of the next decade he became a two-time national champion when he won the 25km (1933) and the marathon (1935). He set a Dutch record with his win the 25km that stood until 1949. Away from running Landheer worked as an interpreter and translator of Slavic languages.
