Biography

Anton Toscani was a Dutch track and field athlete who competed in racewalking, representing AAC in Amsterdam. During the 1930s Toscani won seven national titles with victory in the 25 km (1931–34, 1937) and the 50 km (1935–36). His winning time of 4-42:59 in the 50 km event in 1936 stood as a national record until 1974. He competed in the same event at the 1936 Berlin Olympics where he finished tenth. Two years later Toscani finished eighth in the 50 km at the 1938 European Championships.
