Biography

Stuart Black was a track and field athlete from New Zealand who competed in sprint events. At the 1932 national amateur championships Black won the 440 yards title, setting a national record in the process, and finished in second place in the 220 yards. His performances earned him a place on the Olympic team for the 1932 Los Angeles Games. He ran in the 200 and 400 metres, reaching the quarter-finals in the 200 metres. In 1933 Black defended his 440 yards national title and finished third in the 220 yards.

Personal Bests: 200 – 22.0 (1932); 400 – 48.5 (1932).
