Biography

Dave Norris had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games Long Jump, 3rd in the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games Triple Jump. In the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games he also finished eighth in the long jump and in the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games he also finished sixth in the triple jump and was eliminated in the heats of the 4×440 yards relay (with Barry Robinson, Peter Snell, and the non-Olympian Gary Philpott). Norris also placed fifth in the triple jump and seventh in the long jump at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games and fifth in the long jump and eleventh in the triple jump at the 1970 British Commonwealth Games. In the 1974 British Commonwealth Games he finished sixth in the triple jump.

Personal Bests: LJ – 7.83 (1967); TJ – 15.97 (1964).
