Biography

Mieczysław Długoborski was a middle-distance runner who competed at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. Długoborski was Polish champion both indoors and outdoors, winning the 800 title outdoors in 1953, the 1,500 title indoors in 1951 and 1954, and helping his club win the 3x800 and 4x400 titles in 1952. He began his career in the late 1940s with Spójnia Wrocław, later moving to Gwardia and Polonia. Długoborski became a trainer after he retired from running, working with Konwiktorska.

Personal Best: 1500 – 3:53.4 (1952).
