Biography

At the age of 17 Reawadee Srithoa competed in 400 m at the Los Angeles Games, her first international appearance. She later developed into one of Thailand’s best international athletes in the sprint and hurdles events, with an international career ending in 1998. She won several medals in 4×100 and 4×400 m relays in Asian Championships and Games, being a member of the gold winning 4×100 m team in the Asian Championships 1985. Her best individual event was 400 m hurdles, winning two silver and one bronze medal in Asian Championships, in addition to a sliver medal in 200 m. She ran the 400 m hurdles in the World Championships in 1991 and in the 1992 Olympics, without being able to qualify from her heat. She hold for a period the national record in 100 m hurdles with 13,21, achieved when coming 4th at her latest international participation, the Asian Championships in 1998.

In 1993 she married Thai Olympian sprinter Visut Watanasin, and competed as Reawadee Watanasin the last six years of her career.

Personal Bests: 100 – 11.72 (1991); 400 – 53.74 (1991); 400H – 56.25 (1994).
